What this site collects
SnowLoadCheck needs no account and collects no personal information to show a county's snow load figure. Like almost every website, the hosting and analytics infrastructure automatically logs standard technical data - IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps - for security and aggregate traffic measurement. That data is aggregated and is not used to identify anyone individually.
Cookies
Analytics cookies may be set to tell a repeat visit from a new one. Google AdSense, which serves the ads on this site, also sets its own cookies to measure and personalise ads; see Google's own advertising and privacy policies for how those work.
Advertising and affiliate links
SnowLoadCheck earns money from display advertising served by Google AdSense. AdSense may use cookies to personalise the ads shown to you; see Google's own advertising and privacy policies for how that works.
Third parties
Snow load figures are derived from ASCE 7's code map and NOAA's climate normals, both public sources; no personal data is exchanged with them. Hosting is provided by Firebase (Google). Google AdSense serves the ads on this site under its own terms. No data collected here is sold to third parties.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, laws such as California's CCPA/CPRA and similar statutes in other US states give you the right to know what personal information a site has about you, to have it deleted, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. SnowLoadCheck does not sell or share personal information and does not knowingly collect anything beyond the standard technical logs described above, so there is little to act on, but to ask what has been logged, request deletion, or exercise any other right you have under the law that applies to you, email hello@snowloadcheck.com. You can also opt out of ad personalisation directly through Google's own Ad Center or the industry-wide optout.aboutads.info tool.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
